"We have to talk," I said to my boyfriend Caleb.

He raised an eyebrow at me as he brushed away a lock of curly brown hair that had fallen in front of his eye. "Oh oh. Nothing good ever comes from a conversation that starts with that," he said. He sat down on the bed next to me.

I took a deep breath. "I have a secret. Before you freak out though, I'm not cheating on you or breaking up with you."

Caleb pursed his lips as he looked at me with his bright green eyes. "Well, okay. If it isn't those two things then it can't be all that bad, can it? Hold on, you're not dying or anything are you?"

"No," I said with a smile, "not that either."

"Oh crap, am I dying?" he said with mock sincerity, grabbing at his chest.

I laughed and grabbed a pillow to swat him with. "Stop kidding around, this is serious," I said. "Sort of, anyway."

He flashed his perfect teeth at me as he smiled. "Okay, sorry. Tell me."

Now that it was up to me I shifted uncomfortably on the bed. I'd been with Caleb for a few months and everything was perfect with him, I'd hate to screw things up. But if I didn't open up to him about how I really felt then our relationship would never be able to really progress. At least not the way I wanted it to. The way I needed it to. Especially now that we've been talking about moving in together.
